Particle Physicist - SW Developer - Data Analyst
I'm an applied Particle Physicist, collaborating since the 2014 to the ATLAS experiment. ATLAS is one of the four major experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. It is a general-purpose particle physics experiment run by an international collaboration and is designed to exploit the full discovery potential and the huge range of physics opportunities that the LHC provides.
My contributions to the ATLAS experiment are mainly software focused. I have coordinated the developement of the online software for the Fast Tracker (FTK) project. Currently, I'm the responsible of the software application that provides to the ATLAS trigger system the data fragments coming from the different parts of the experiment, and that builds the selected events in data structures, sending them to the ATLAS permanent storage. Moreover, I'm coordinating the online software effort for the developement of the Hardware Track Trigger (HTT) project, an "upgrade" of the FTK project.
Since January 2021, I have been appointed Run Coordinator for the Data Acquisition (DAQ) system and High Level Trigger (HLT) of the ATLAS experiment.
